When the blocks (12a, 12b) are aligned in abutting relationship, either side by side, side to end or end to end, to form a tile (10) of the desired pattern, the grooves (28, 30) are aligned to form a grid-like network of continuous, rectilinear channels (32, 34). The channels (32, 34) are substantially filled with a relatively flexible, synthetic plastic material capable of becoming flowable upon being heated to a predetermined temperature and hardening upon subsequent cooling.
