The invention concerns a structure formed by one or two elements having any given configuration provided that they define support points (2) outside the ground. The structure (1) is preferably designed to support a piece of furniture such as a seat (4), a table top, a bookcase, etc., said structure preferably having three support points: two on the ceiling (2) and one on the ground (3) or vice-versa, or even one on the ceiling, another one on the ground and a third one on a wall. The elements forming the structure may form a single rigid or flexible body or may be formed by two or more segments that are telescopically joined and/or hinged to one another so as to be able to change the angle between said elements and the extension thereof to lift said elements to different heights between the ceiling and the ground. The assembled structure (1) with its supports (2 y 3) is perfectly stable and, hence, the piece of furniture or seat (4) supported by said structure.
