A rolling bearing including a cage disposed in an annular space defined between an outer ring and an inner ring, a plurality of rolling elements held in the cage, and a solid lubricant disposed in the cage, wherein the cage has a plurality of circumferentially disposed rolling element receiving pockets and recesses each disposed between adjoining circumferentially disposed rolling element receiving pockets, the rolling elements being received in their respective rolling element receiving pockets. The solid lubricant is mounted in the recesses so as to be in slide contact with the rolling element raceway surfaces.
