A generally C shaped power tool handle (10) has two ends (14, 16) for releasably engaging the power tool housing (12), with a gripping portion (22) between the ends. One of the handle ends (14) has a release lever (34), while the other of the ends (16) has an attachment arm (48). The release lever (34) has an actuating end (44) operable to detach the handle from the tool housing (12). Additional power tool handle embodiments are directed to a tool handle that has a gripping layer (108) and a storage compartment (100) in the handle, with a pliable lip (106) in the handle for resisting movement of stored tools.
