Abstract:
A device for clamping mechanical pieces that are subjected to machining operations, particularly for clamping vehicle wheels (4), comprises means (8) for reversibly clamping the wheels (4) to a piece-holder table (2), the clamping means cooperating with and fitting in the holes (6) that are provided in the face portion of the wheel for the mounting of the wheel on a vehicle. The device further comprises means (9) for the localized support of the wheel (4) in an outer peripheral region (10) of the face portion (5), the support means (9) being lockable selectively in order to constitute a rigid prop for supporting the wheel (4) during the machining thereof.
