Abstract:
Disclosed is an optical recording medium capable of recording and/or reproducing high-density optical information by using a short-wavelength laser light having a wavelength of 350-530 nm. This optical recording medium comprises a recording layer formed on a substrate and containing a metal complex compound. The metal complex compound is composed of a cyclic ß-diketone azo compound represented by the general formula [I] or [II] below and a divalent metal ion coordinated to the cyclic ß-diketone azo compound.
