The invention relates to methods and apparatuses for producing Braille embossing profiles and for producing Braille script embossments. Furthermore, the invention also relates to Braille embossing profiles per se. There is provision, in particular, in conjunction with flatbed punching firstly and offset printing secondly, for simple possible solutions to be made available for producing Braille script embossments. To this end, the Braille male die and the Braille female die can be configured for flatbed punching such that they can be connected magnetically to one another for transfer and exact positioning in the punching die. For offset printing, advantageous exact positioning of the Braille male die is proposed by means of a printed sheet template which can subsequently be pressed into a female die blank. The Braille male die is manufactured in each case preferably from a male die blank which has all the Braille embossing points.
