A method for forming a package (11) from a carton blank (10) comprising; providing a carton blank (10) having series of panels (12, 14, 16, 18, 20) for forming carton walls in flat collapsed form locating a mandrel (60a, 60b, 62) on an inner surface of a first panel (16) of the carton blank, sequentially folding the series of panels (12, 14, 16, 18, 20) of the carton blank about the mandrel (60a, 60b, 62) whereby forming the carton walls;securing the at least two of the series of panels (12, 20) together to maintain the carton in an assembled form.
