The image reception unit receives a 3D image and system information that includes additional information for the 3D image, then generates 3D signaling information based on the additional information, and then transmits the 3D signaling information together with the 3D image through a digital interface. The display unit receives the 3D image and the 3D signaling information through the digital interface, then formats the 3D image based on the received 3D signaling information, and then displays the formatted 3D image.
