Abstract:
The preset invention is directed to an embossing tool (50). The embossing tool includes a drive mechanism (100) that advances a tape, an embossing mechanism (150) and a cutting mechanism (200). The cutting mechanism cuts the tape (300) to form a tag (302). The cutting mechanism also forms a mounting feature in the ends of the tag. The cutting mechanism includes a pair of dies (232, 238) with openings therethrough and at least one punch (230) moveable within the openings for engaging the tape.
