In certain example embodiments a component includes an asymmetric glass substrate that includes at least first, second, and third surfaces. The third surface can be laminated to a photovoltaic subassembly. The first surface can structured to be angled away from a vertical plane of a building at an angle of between 5 and 40 degrees. The first surface may be longer than the second surface.
