Provided is an ion-generating unit wherein it is possible to replace the ion-generating part without replacing the ion sensor. Also provided is an electrical appliance provided with said ion-generating unit. An ion-generating unit (41) comprises: an ion-generating part (410) provided with a box-shaped housing (411) with one side open and electrode parts (413, 412) which generate positive ions and negative ions; an ion sensor (414); a lid part (421) that covers the housing (411) in such a manner that the ion generating part (410) can be removed from the housing (411); a lid part (422) that covers the housing (411) in such a manner that the ion sensor (414) cannot be easily removed from the housing (411); a connector (415) provided to one end of the housing (411), for mechanically and electrically connecting the ion-generating unit (41) and; and a threaded part (416) provided to the other end of the housing (411), for fixing the ion-generating unit (41) to the case.
