Abstract:
A guard device for a saw system (100) in which the table saw is not operated without a saw blade guard (112), unless a user intends to make a non-through cut in a workpiece (114). The guard device, in one embodiment, determines whether an adjusted saw blade height (SB1) corresponds to a thickness of the workpiece (114) to be cut and prevents the tool or motor (105) driving the saw blade (102) from operating if the saw blade (102) is adjusted too high, in order to improve work conditions.
