Conditions are applied to at least a first element (244) of the dataset based on user input from user interface elements, in response to receiving user input for a first user interface element (302) associated with a first field. Instructions are generated for applying selected conditions associated with respective user interface elements, the selected conditions being a condition associated with the first user interface element and one or more additional conditions selected, based on information (430) specifying potential dependencies between different conditions.
