A method of converting a sand filter comprising a vessel and a filter element mounted within the vessel to a cyclone filter comprises the steps of removing an end cap of the sand filter vessel, removing the filter element, replacing the cap with a housing comprising a cyclone unit and connecting the housing to the vessel.
