An electrical connector comprises an insulative body, a plurality of terminals, a grounding metal plate, a soldering leg positioning member and an outer shielding shell. The insulative body has a main body and a tongue protruding forwardly from the main body. The terminals are divided into upper and lower rows, and comprise a contact portion and a tail portion, the contact portions of the terminals are exposed. The grounding metal plate is positioned between the terminals in the upper and lower rows, and comprises a first shielding portion and a second shielding portion. The soldering leg positioning member is fixed to the main body of the insulative body, and has a plurality of positioning holes penetrating vertically for passing though and positioning of the tail portions of the terminals. The outer shielding shell surrounds an outer space of the tongue to define a mating cavity.
