Abstract:
An injection molding apparatus comprising a heated manifold (20), an actuator (10) comprised of an actuator housing (12) containing a drive member interconnected to a valve pin having a drive axis, one or more heat convectors (30, 40) each heat convector comprised of a heat conductive leg (36, 46) disposed within a gap (G) disposed between the manifold and a downstream end of the actuator housing and a heat conductive arm (32, 42) extending distally upstream and away from the gap (G) such that heat is conducted from the leg (36, 46) to the arm (32, 42) upstream and away from the downstream end of the actuator housing (12).
