A vehicle dynamics simulation test pad assembly is applicable for evaluating performance of a motor vehicle. The test pad assembly includes a substantially planar base, and a mechanically actuated displacement plate vertically spaced apart above the base. A plurality of elongated telescoping guides extend vertically between the base and the displacement plate. A plurality of rotatable horizontally-disposed cam shafts are carried on the base and comprise respective eccentric cams. A plurality of follower carriages are mounted adjacent an underside of the displacement plate proximate respective cams of the cam shafts. A synchronous drive mechanism is operatively connected to the plurality of cam shafts, and is adapted for simultaneously rotating the cam shafts such that the eccentric cams intermittently engage respective follower carriages to dynamically actuate the displacement plate.
