A pumping assembly for feeding fuel, preferably diesel fuel, to an internal combustion engine, has a pump body (4, 9), at least one cylinder (14) formed in the pump body (4, 9), a closing lid (29) defining, together with the pump body (4, 9), an intake chamber (39) for drawing the fuel into the cylinder (14), an annular tooth (32) projecting from the closing lid (29) and an annular recess (35) formed in the pump body (4, 9) for receiving and housing the annular tooth (32) so as to couple the pump body (4, 9) and the closing lid (29) together in a fluid-tight manner.
