The device (100) includes a control unit (108), an input device (112) and an output device (116). The control unit (108) is configured to receive the outputs of the gear roll tester (104) and processing these outputs. The input device (112) for example a probe is configured according to the present invention and connected with the gear roll tester (104). The output of gear roll tester (104) is input for the input device (112). The control unit (108) includes a first processing unit (204) and a second processing unit (208).
