A representative embodiment provides power supply voltage multipliers (100) in a binary ladder distribution to provide a desired number of output voltage steps using a relatively uncomplicated circuit design. By using different sources in various combinations and/or by "stacking" different sources in various ways, the voltage multiplier circuit (100) may be used to provide desired voltages (V TARG ). In order to minimize the number of components used in a voltage converter (100) of an embodiment, a capacitive voltage converter circuit (110) uses one or more storage capacitors (CS1,CS2,CS3) in place of pump capacitors (CP1,CP2,CP3) in a voltage generation cycle.
