摘要： This invention relates to the use of tetraalkylpyromellitates as plasticisers for PVC for use in articles for biomedical use. The pyromellitates are less toxic than the conventionally used phthlates and trimellitates and are extracted less readily by the biological fluids in contact therewith. The articles that can be produced with PVC plasticised in this manner include dialysis tubes, catheters and blood bags.

摘要： This invention relates to a plasticiser composition suitable for use in rubber formulations. The plasticiser comprises a trimellitate ester, an aliphatic linear dicarboxylate, a dialkylthiodicarboxylate and an antioxidant. The plasticiser compositions of this invention perform well at both low and high temperatures without adversely affecting the other desirable characteristics of the rubber or elastomer being plasticised.
