The mounting portion (501A) has a body connector (504) associated therewith for electrically connecting the connector of the cartridge (512) to the apparatus. A recording head positioner (510) positions the recording head portion (507) of the cartridge on the mounting portion (501A). An operation device displaces the cartridge (514) and the body connector relative to each other to connect the body connector (504) to the cartridge connector (512).
