摘要： The present invention concerns a process for the manufacture of thick juice, as part of a sugar manufacturing process, by evaporative concentration of thin juice of sugar beet, sugar cane, or combinations thereof, using multiple-effect evaporation with n effects, wherein part of the water vapour resulting from evaporation in one or more of the evaporators 1 to n-1, is subjected to thermal vapour recompression using two or more thermal vapour recompressors connected in parallel and wherein the thermally recompressed vapour is supplied to the heat exchange element of evaporator 1 or 2 for heating the thin juice to be concentrated.
