摘要： A lottery ticket dispensing unit (10) includes at least one ticket compartment (18) and a separation module (20) that has a drive roller (22) and an opposed idler roller (24), with a motor (28) geared to the drive roller. An automatic separator device (38) is provided, wherein the drive roller (22) conveys a leading lottery ticket (14) to a separation position such that a line between the leading ticket (14) and an adjacent ticket (14) is presented to the separator device (38). The separator device includes a shuttle (40) that travels in a linear path along the line, the shuttle having a head (42) that engages and separates the leading ticket (14) from the adjacent ticket (14) along the line. A bi-directional drive mechanism (88) moves the shuttle (40) back and forth along the linear path.
