A technique for an infrared radiation thermometer used for thermography detects measurement abnormality of the infrared radiation thermometer and estimates the causes of the measurement abnormality such as contamination of an objective lens and a malfunction in a mechanism section of the infrared radiation thermometer. The measurement abnormality detector has a dummy lens 21 placed in the periphery of the objective lens 11 of the thermometer 10 so as to be at a position and in an attitude that are more susceptible to contamination than the objective lens 11, a laser displacement meter 22 for projecting light to the dummy lens 21 at each predetermined time or at a predetermined timing, receiving the light reflected by the dummy lens 21, and measuring the quantity of the received light, and determination means 50 for calculating the attenuation rate of the projected light on the basis of the quantity of the received light measured by the laser displacement meter 22, estimating the degree of contamination of the dummy lens 21 on the basis of the calculated attenuation rate, and judging, on the basis of the degree of contamination of the dummy lens 21, the necessity of warning for contamination of the objective lens 11 and measurement abnormality of the thermometer 10.

It is preferable that a nitrided layer be formed between the nano carbon layer and the molten metal contact surface of the casting member when the nano carbon layer is formed, and that the lubricant applied to the nano carbon layer have a BN pulverulent body as a main component. According to the invention, the mold releasability and fluidity of the casting member can be maintained even if the number of times of casting is increased, and the cost of the process of subjecting the molten metal contact surface of the casting member to the surface treatment can be reduced.

An object is to propose a mold release agent improving the state of a mold surface by repeating casting cycle so as to extend the life of the metal mold actively, and a casting method using the mold release agent. A water-soluble mold release agent applied on a mold surface of a metal mold contains organic acid or organic acid salt which is reducing and ligand, wherein concentration of a total thereof is not less than 0.01wt% in using concentration and is not more than a fixed concentration which is stability limit of emulsion of the mold release agent in undiluted concentration. Construction weight ratio of the organic acid or organic acid salt which is reducing and the ligand is in the range from 99/1 to 30/70. The mold release agent is applied on a mold surface of a die casting metal mold, molten metal is injected into the metal mold, and the organic acid or organic acid salt which is reducing in the mold release agent is reacted with a component of the mold surface so as to deoxidize Fe2O3 on the mold surface to Fe3O4.
