Borate luminescent materials, preparation methods and uses thereof are provided. The luminescent materials are represented by the general formula: (In 1-x Re x )BO 3 :zM, wherein Re is one or two selected from Tm, Tb, Eu, Sm, Gd, Dy and Ce, M is one or two selected from metal nano particles of Au, Ag, Pt or Pd, 0 -2 . Compared to the luminescent materials in the prior art, the said luminescent materials have higher luminous intensity and luminous efficiency, which can be used in field emission displays or light source.

Phosphors for use in a color cathode ray tube and cathode ray tubes using the same are disclosed. Phosphors according to the present invention comprise aluminum borate as the host material and may be represented by the following general formulas: (Al₁ -x-y, Lnx, Tby) :nBO₃ wherein Ln is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Sc, Lu, La and Y, the phosphor being a green emitting phosphor; (Al₁ -a-b, Lna, Eub):mBO₃ wherein Ln is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Sc, Lu, La and Y,the phosphor being a red emitting phosphor; (Al₁ -p-q-r, Eup, Tbq, Mr):sBO₃ wherein M is at least one element selected from the group consisting of In, Ga and Sm, the phosphor being an orange emitting phosphor. Phosphors prepared according to the present invention are excellent in the color purity, the emission luminance, the deterioration characteristics and the chemical stability.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Verfahren zur Herstellung fluoreszenzfähiger, anorganischer Nanopartikel, wobei die Nanopartikel aus einem wenigstens einen Dotanden enthaltenden Wirtsmaterial bestehen. Durch die erfindungsgemäße Synthese mit organischen Lösungsmitteln kann eine wesentlich bessere Ausbeute erzielt werden als bei der Wassersynthese vom Stand der Technik. Gegenstände aller Art können vorteilhaft markiert und mittels automatisiertem Verfahren sicher anhand charakteristischer Emission authentifiziert werden. Weiter ist die Größenverteilung der hergestellten Nanopartikel enger, was eine nachträgliche größenselektive Trennung überflüssig macht.
