摘要： A method for attaching a binding system to an inwardly facing side of a cover is described. The binding system is operable to bind a spine end of a collection of physical media sheets to the cover. The binding system has a datum stop (30) protruding away from the inwardly facing side of the cover, and the datum stop has a datum stop surface against which a head end or a tail end of the collection is registerable prior to binding the collection to the cover. The method comprises positioning and registering the physical media sheet collection against the datum stop surface, and then binding the spine end of the collection of physical media sheets to the cover through the binding system.

摘要： A filing device which includes simplified binding elements for removably binding a plurality of folder bags of a synthetic resin, and allows for easy attachment of the binding elements to a file cover (7) thereof. The filing device comprises: a file cover (7) including a front cover portion (8), a back cover portion (9), and a spine (10) provided between the front (8) and back (9) cover portions; and a binding member (1) fixed onto an inner side of the spine of the file cover and including an elongated base plate, a plurality of binding elements (3) provided parallel to each other at predetermined intervals along the length of the base plate on an inner side of the base plate as projecting perpendicularly to the base plate, and hooks extending outwardly from longitudinally opposite ends of the base plate and bent into a U-shape so as to be hooked onto longitudinally opposite ends of the spine of the file cover (7). The binding elements (3) respectively have generally inverted-U-shaped flanges which are engageable with engagement portions provided as incisions in an edge portion of a folder bag at the predetermined intervals.

The strip (10) comprises an elongate layer (11) of thin flexible material, and a coating of repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive (20) on one major surface (12) along an inner edge portion. That layer is free of adhesive on both of its side surfaces along an outer edge portion. That outer edge portion is visually distinctive, and the juncture between the inner and outer portions is straight and visibly distinctive.
