    摘要: At an outlet of a heating, ventilating or air conditioning system air passes from the ducting through a plenum chamber (1), a damper (2) provided with a set of blades (19) which are movable between open and closed positions and a diffuser (4) which directs the air in a desired direction. The plenum chamber (1) has an inlet (7) and an outlet (8) which extend in different directions and the chamber (1) is provided with a plurality of substantially planar, parallel, internal vanes (10) disposed on one side of the chamber (1). The vanes (10) act to guide a flow of air through the chamber between the inlet (7) and the outlet (8). The plenum chamber (1) may be integrally moulded from a plastics material.

    摘要: The present invention provides a valve that controls a flow of gas or solid objects through a pipe, and particularly a z-valve used in an elevated rail transportation system. The valve includes vanes hinged to a valve stem that fold into a z-shape and retract into the valve body when the valve is open. A valve cap positioned at the top of the valve stem matches the contour of the inner surface of the pipe, allowing unobstructed flow. When the valve is closed, the valve stem is elevated into the interior of the pipe and the valve cap rotates 90 to match the contour at the top, providing a seal. The vanes extend from the z-shape to completely block a cross-section of the pipe, stopping the flow. The flow may be modulated by varying the extension of the vanes to allow a portion of the flow to pass the valve.

    摘要: A damper (80) is provided for controlling the flow of conditioned air supplied through a supply duct to a conditioned space. The damper includes a support housing (95) which defines a flow passage which communicates the supply duct with the conditioned space. A plurality of damper blades (110) are mounted within the support housing (95) for pivotal movement about respective spaced apart parallel axes. A blade link (120) interconnects the damper blades (110) in a ganged relation so that a common pivoted orientation of the damper blades (110) is determined by the position of the blade link (120). Means are provided for selectively exerting a force on the blade link (120) which will move the link between first and second positions to respectively decrease or increase the flow of air through the damper (80). Means are provided which allows the blade link (120) to move toward the second position (maximum flow) in response to a force imparted on the damper blades (110) by a build-up of pressure in the supply duct. Under such circumstances the force imparted upon the damper blades is sufficient to overcome the force exerted on the blade link to move the link toward the first position (flow substantially blocked).

    摘要: The present invention provides a valve that controls a flow of gas or solid objects through a pipe, and particularly a z-valve used in an elevated rail transportation system. The valve includes vanes hinged to a valve stem that fold into a z-shape and retract into the valve body when the valve is open. The valve includes a frame adapted to fit within a perimeter of an aperture in a divider separating the first environment from the second environment. The valve additionally includes a first gate movable within the frame to control a flow of the fluid through the aperture between the first environment and the second environment. The first gate includes a substantially aerodynamically clean surface substantially free from protrusions disrupting the flow of the fluid over the first gate surface. Additionally, the first gate includes a trailing edge having a baffle adapted to cover an aft edge of the frame when the first gate is positioned to have a small opening angle. The baffle includes a plurality of 3-D notches in a front side of the baffle. The valve further includes a second gate movable within the frame to control a flow of the fluid through the aperture between the first environment and the second environment. The second gate also includes a substantially aerodynamically clean surface substantially free from protrusions disrupting the flow of the fluid over the second gate surface.
