The invention also concerns a method for joining the side profiles of a first and a second cable ladder end-to-end with each other using such a joint element.

    a first ladder section including two rails and at least two rungs, each rung extending between the two rails, the first ladder section including a first ladder section connecting end having a first ladder section locking feature;
    a second ladder section including at least one rail and having a second ladder section connecting end having a second ladder section locking feature;
    a cam element slidably disposed along a rail of a first one of the first and second ladder section connecting ends, the cam element having an internal cam surface; and
    a male hinge element provided on a second one of the first and second ladder section connecting ends and having a transverse connecting element having a cam follower, the transverse connecting element extending into a path along which the cam element is configured to slide along the rail such that the cam follower selectively contacts the internal cam surface;
    wherein sliding movement of the cam element to an unlocked position allows the first and second ladder sections to rotate relative to each other while sliding movement of the cam element to a locked position causes the first ladder section locking feature and the second ladder section locking feature to engage each other to prohibit relative rotation between the first and second ladder sections.

    摘要： A speedy pivoting-and-fixing device for a foldable structure includes a structure assembly (11), a pivot assembly (13), a base assembly (14) and a pin (15). The structure assembly has a first structure (111) and a second structure (112). The pivot assembly has a first pivot (131) and a second pivot (132) formed with axial holes (122,123). The first and the second pivots are each formed with a cambered surface (133) at a proximal end thereof so that the first and the second structures can be pivoted by 90° and 180° relatively. The base assembly (14) has through-holes corresponding to the axial holes so that, by using axial bolts (135), the base assembly can be effectively attached to the pivot assembly or the first and the second pivots can be pivoted into place in a speedy way. The pin (15) is disposed at a side of the first and the second pivot and is adapted to compressively fix the pivot assembly to prevent rotation thereof.

    摘要： A structural support assembly, more particularly incorporating a joint useful in the preparation of structural support assemblies such as ladders, scaffolds and trusses. The joint has a male member (42) with an open-ended hollow projection which defines an inner wall and an outer wall. The joint also has a wooden female member having a socket defined by a groove in the form of a closed loop having opposing walls. The projection of the male member is fitted in a clearance fit in the socket and is secured therein by a binding material which contacts the inner and outer walls of the projection and the opposing walls of the socket. The binding material also permeates the female member surrounding the socket. A process for the preparation of such structural supports is also described.
