This invention relates to suspension bridges. A modular component for a suspension bridge structure comprises in combination an elongated member (10) having one end (11) thereof supported upon a base (20) and the other free end (12) thereof disposed upwardly of the base. An elongated boom-like member (30) is disposed to be supported upon one end (31) of the base angularly relative to the other elongated member whereby the free ends (12, 32) of the members respectively are spaced one from another in a first vertical plane. A first tie means (40) extends between the free ends of the members (10 and 12) and a second tie means (50) extends between the free end of the elongated member (10) and a first anchor point (51) spaced from the base (20) whereby an acute angle is formed between the second tie means and the elongated member (10). A further mirror image modular component is formed based on a second base so that the first and second bases are positioned in selected spaced relation one to another. An elongated traffic deck structure (60) is disposed below and longitudinally of the elongated boom-like members (30) and supported thereform via respective tie means (71). A novel method of constructing a bridge is also disclosed.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Kabel (2) für Bauwerke, insbesondere Schrägkabelbrücken, aus mehreren gebündelten Zugelementen (6), die von einem Hüllrohr (7) umgeben sind, wobei der Hohlraum zwischen Zugelementen (6) und Hüllrohr (7) mit einem Injiziermaterial, vorzugsweise Zementmörtel (9) verpresst ist. Um die Herstellungs-, Transport- und Montage-Kosten für ein derartiges Kabel zu verringern, wird gemäss der Erfindung vorgeschlagen, das Hüllrohr (7) direkt am Ort des Bauwerkes aus mindestens einem Stahlblechstreifen (11) mit der Länge des Hüllrohres zu formen, wobei aneinandergrenzende Längskanten der Streifen (11), z.B. mit einer Falznaht (15) verbunden sind. Das in einer Formstation (10) sukzessive hergestellte Hüllrohr wird auf die bereits gespannten Zugelemente (6) geschoben, anschliessend gegenüber Verankerungen (4 und 5) des Kabels (2) abgedichtet und mit dem Zementmörtel (9) verpresst.

A suspension bridge has a first deck 10 supported from a pair of suspension cables 14 and 15 by hangers 12 and 13 and a second deck 11 independently supported from a pair of suspension cables 18 and 19 by hangers 20 and 21. The two parallel decks are separated by a gap whose width is not less than that of either of the decks and is preferably three or more times the width of a deck. The decks are joined at intervals diagonal shear braces so that the two decks behave essentially as a single rigid body in regard to rotation in the plane of Figure 2. This results in very high aerodynamic damping of both torsional and bending modes of oscillation.

Bei einem solchen Stahlbetonseil dient das Außenmantelrohr (10) als verlorene Schalung und als Schutz für das Stahlbetonseil. Ein derartiges Stahlbetonseil findet für Tragseile und Hängestäbe einer Hängebrücke Verwendung.

An anchoring apparatus that adapts to the longitudinal movement of a structure and installation method therefor. The anchoring apparatus that adapts to the longitudinal movement of a structure comprises a flared steel casing tube (1) and a cable guide pipe (8); a cable (6) is threaded through the inside of the cable guide pipe (8), the cable (6) being fixed to an end of the cable guide pipe (8) by means of a cable seal tube (7); the flared steel casing tube (1) is located within the cable guide pipe (8); the inner diameter of the flared steel casing tube (1) gradually lengthens along the direction leading away from the cable seal tube (7); the outer wall of the flared steel casing tube (1) is fixed to the inner wall of the cable guide pipe (8). The installation method for the anchoring apparatus that adapts to the longitudinal movement of a structure comprises the following steps: machining the flared steel casing tube (1) according to the designed horizontal curve; inserting the flared steel casing tube (1) into the cable guide pipe (8) and fixedly connecting same to the inner wall of the cable guide pipe (8), forming an integral body; threading the cable (6) through the inside of the cable guide pipe (8) and performing tensioning. The anchoring apparatus that adapts to the longitudinal movement of a structure increases the contact area of the outer wall of the cable (6) and the inner wall of the flared steel casing tube (1), preventing part of the cable (6) from being subjected to a concentrated cutting force, improving the safety of the anchoring system.
