摘要: An improved optical waveguide device having an optical waveguide (3) for guiding a lightwave comprises, on a surface of a substrate (6) having an electrooptical effect, at least a pair of electrodes (1,2) composed of a hot electrode (1) and a ground electrode (2) which controls a guided lightwave, a buffer layer (4) formed between the electrodes and the optical waveguide; further comprising an antistatic film (5) which is formed on an upper surface of the buffer layer such that it comes into contact only with the hot electrode.

摘要: An optical modulator including a substrate (11) made of lithium niobate having an electrooptical effect, first and second optical waveguides (12) formed in the substrate by effecting a thermal diffusion of titanium into a surface of the substrate, a buffer layer (13) formed on the surface of the substrate, a hot electrode (15) provided on the buffer layer and having a width W e not larger than a width W f of the optical waveguide, first and second ground electrodes (16) provided on the buffer layer such that these ground electrodes are symmetrical with respect to the hot electrode, and an electric field adjusting region (14) having a width not smaller than that of the hot electrode is provided between the buffer layer and the hot electrode. First and second ground side electric field adjusting main- and subregions (32,37) may be provided between the buffer layer (13) and the first and second ground electrodes (31), respectively. An interaction between an electric field generated by applied microwave and lightwave propagating along the optical waveguides can be enhanced, and thus a driving voltage can be decreased.

Provided is a calcium carbonate generation method of generating calcium carbonate from a calcium-containing waste, the calcium carbonate generation method including: a calcium dissolution step of adding aqueous hydrochloric acid to a calcium-containing waste and dissolving calcium to generate an aqueous solution containing a calcium ion; a separation step of adjusting a hydrogen ion concentration index of the aqueous solution containing a calcium ion and separating a component containing at least one selected from the group consisting of Si, Al, Mg, and heavy metal from the aqueous solution; and a calcium carbonate collection step of generating calcium carbonate using an aqueous solution obtained in the separation step and an aqueous solution containing potassium carbonate and/or sodium carbonate.
