There is disclosed a method performed by a wireless communication device 100 to enable the reception of a beam sweep transmission. The method comprises obtaining S1 information enabling said wireless communication device 100 to determine whether it is stationary, or essentially stationary. The method also comprises acquiring S2 configuration information comprising information about the starting time for the beam sweep transmission. The method also comprises determining S3 a time when to initiate a reception of the beam sweep transmission based at least partially on the obtained information and the acquired configuration information, thereby allowing said wireless communication device to enter, or remain in, a first activity state until the determined time. The method also comprises entering S4, at the determined time, a second activity state whereby said wireless communication device is capable to receive the beam sweep. According to certain embodiments, methods and systems for providing device-specific radio network temporary identifiers (C-RNTI) signatures may be provided for interference cancellation. The methods and systems may include assigning a subset of C-RNTIs to a cell. A mapping may be defined between the subset of C-RNTI signatures and a set of C-RNTI indices. Each C-RNTI signature within the subset may be identifiable by a first wireless device via the mapping. The mapping between the subset of C-RNTI signatures and the set C-RNTI indices may be provided to the first wireless device. A C-RNTI indices indicating at least one currently scheduled wireless device may be provided to the first wireless device.

This disclosure provides by a method for transmitting a mobility reference signal, MRS, during a mobility measurement session to a wireless device, WD. The method is performed in a radio access network node, RANN. The RANN is configurable to transmit using a set of transmission beams. The method comprises dynamically assigning, a MRS identifier to each candidate transmission beam in a set of candidate transmission beams. The method comprises transmitting control information to the WD, the control information comprising the MRS identifier for each corresponding candidate transmission beam; and transmitting the mobility reference signal, MRS, to the WD in accordance with the transmitted control information.

According to the teachings herein, one or more signal parameters for received data symbols are estimated by determining a statistical representation for the data symbols based on the magnitude distribution of initial symbol estimates. The statistical representation is compared to a number of reference representations that were formed in like manner from respective sets of data symbols parameterized according to the signal parameters to be estimated for the received data symbols, or according to signal parameters from which the parameters of interest can be derived. Basing the comparison on symbol magnitude distributions provides robust operation at low symbol qualities. Further, one or more embodiments disclosed herein increase the estimation robustness by using a pilot-assisted approach, whereby the reference representations used in the comparison are selected from a larger set in dependence on a quality range estimated from reference symbols received in conjunction with the data symbols of interest.
