Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for producing surface-postcrosslinked water-absorbent polymer particles by coating of water-absorbent polymer particles having a content of residual monomers in the range from 0.03 to 15% by weight with at least one surface-post-crosslinker and thermal surface-postcrosslinking at temperatures in the range from 100 to 180°C.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing water-absorbent polymer particles, wherein at least one inorganic phosphoric acid and/or the salt thereof and at least one organic 2-hydroxy acid and/or the salt thereof are added, wherein the phosphorus in the inorganic phosphoric acid has an oxidation number of less than +V and the organic 2-hydroxy acid does not contain any ethylenically unsaturated groups, and to the water-absorbent polymer particles that can be obtained according to the method according to the invention.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for producing water-absorbent polymer particles by polymerizing droplets of a monomer solution in a surrounding heated gas phase and flowing the gas cocurrent through the polymerization chamber, which comprises coating the water-absorbing polymer particles with at least one sulfinic acid, sulfonic acid and/or salts thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a superabsorber produced by polymerizing a monomer mixture comprising at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer supporting at least one acid group, wherein at least 0.1% by weight and no more than 20% by weight, relative to the total quantity of ethylenically unsaturated monomers supporting at least one acid group (calculated as free acid), of at least one alkali earth salt (calculated free of water of crystallization) selected from salts of calcium, strontium, or barium is added to the polymer before or during polymerization and/or, if a separate drying step follows the polymerization, before drying. According to the invention, the superabsorber shows improved stability against discoloration when stored at elevated temperatures or elevated humidity.
Abstract:
Re-moisturised, surface-crosslinked superabsorbents are produced using a process that comprises the steps of contacting a superabsorbent base polymer with an organic crosslinker and a polyvalent metal salt solution in the presence of an alcohol, heat- treating to produce a surface-crosslinked, dry superabsorbent and re-moisturising the surface-crosslinked dry superabsorbent.
Abstract:
Polyamine-coated superabsorbent polymer particles having a reduced tendency to agglomerate and having improved permeability properties are disclosed. A method of producing the polyamine- coated particles using a polyammonium carbonate also is disclosed.
