The invention relates to a device for fixing a dental tool to a tool holder arrangement which rotatably fixes and actuates a dental tool or instrument around a drive shaft (6), is incorporated into a dental handpiece head (4) and is coupled to a movement transmission unit integrated into the arm of said handpiece. The inventive device is characterised in that it mainly consists of a deformable and elastic clamping-unclamping element which is embodied in the form of a belt (25), whose at least one part is provided with a section introducible into an annular throat or groove embodied in the top part of the tool and holding said tool by clamping forces and which is also provided with means for producing unclamping forces for cancelling clamping forces, thereby releasing the tool. In other variants, said elastic belt can be embodied in the form of a parallelogram or ring or split catch.
