Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for inhalation of medicine, in which particles in a medicinal aqueous solution, in a liquid aerosol form, are converted to dry medicinal particles by removing moisture therefrom by means of an evaporation unit so as to be inhaled, thereby allowing medicinal particles to penetrate deeply along the respiratory track to the lungs, and thus can be used in the treatment of lung diseases or a variety of other treatments using same, and in which an evaporation unit is structured so that an air compressor used in an aerosol unit is used to supply dry air thereto, thereby obviating an additional and separate device therefor, and thus the apparatus for inhalation is simplified, manufacturing thereof is facilitated and the manufacturing cost thereof is reduced.
Abstract:
A therapeutic vaporizer inhalation bag attachment system with an integrated valve is disclosed. The attachment system includes a body having a lumen extending between the two openings of the body, a bag coupling, and a valve positioned within the lumen. A method of using the inhalation bag attachment system is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Improvement of powder inhaler, consisting of a base housing (1), snap-in capsule receptacle (2) and a moveable mouthpiece (4), this latter internally including a device (7) to open the capsule (7) containing the powdered medication, housed in a breakdown chamber (10), with air intake points (11 and 12) and an outlet (14) for air mixed with powder, with the outlet (14) being integrated with the conduit (9) of the mouthpiece (4); the above- mentioned passage (14) for the air / powder mixture located between the conduit (9) and the chamber (10) is restricted and is sufficiently long to cause two effects in the capsule (C) while it spins in the chamber (10) during inhalation: a) valve - obstruction of the passage (14) by the capsule (C), more precisely by its cylindrical part, briefly and intermittently, with such obstruction of the passage (14) being repeated at every half turn (180°) of the capsule or whenever it is aligned with the passage (14); and b) impact of the capsule (C) through suction against the roof of the breakdown chamber (10) whenever it is aligned with the passage (14) and its obstruction is complete, with this impact being sufficient to neutralize the compaction of the powder at the ends of the capsule (C) during its rotation.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an inhaler which is suitable for administration of drugs in dry powder form from capsules. The inhaler comprises: a mouthpiece cover (1) hiding the mouthpiece; a bottom casing (2) where the device mechanism is situated; a movable mouthpiece (3') communicating with the bottom casing; a middle casing (3) situated between the bottom casing and the mouthpiece; a capsule chamber (13) where the capsule is placed and an air intake duct (5) which is inserted into the mouthpiece. The inhaler is characterized in that the diameter of the air intake duct (5) through which the air flow entraining the dry powder medicament from the capsule to the mouthpiece passes is in the range of 3-7 mm. This results in an increase of the flow resistance of the inhaler. Consequently, the flow rate required to be applied by the patient in order to provide the standard pressure decrease of 4 kPa decreases. The inhaler enables therefore effective inhalation of dry powder medicament even at low flow rates during inhalation.
Abstract:
Dosage inhaler consisting of a liquid active ingredient container (1) housing a liquid with an active ingredient dissolved therein, an atomizer (2) by means of which the liquid is transformed into an aerosol and can be introduced into the aerosol dome, in which there is a baffle plate (30) and to which an inlet air tube (31) and an outlet air tube (32) are attached, and an electronic control (4). According to the invention, the atomizer can be intermittently operated, a user command readout (5) is visible to the user, and the generation of the amount of aerosol inside and below the aerosol dome (3) can be separated in time from its inhalation.
Abstract:
The invention is to provide a gas mist inhaler being simple and excellent in effects by using physiological actions of carbon dioxide or oxygen. The gas mist inhaler has a gas supply means for supplying oxygen, carbon, or a mixed gas (called as "gas" hereafter) of oxygen and carbon dioxide, a gas mist generation means connected to the gas supply means for storing a liquid inside thereof and generating a mist (called as "gas mist" hereafter) prepared by pulverizing and dissolving the stored liquid and the gas, and an inhalation member connected to the gas mist generation means and having an inhalation port of inhaling the gas mist into a living organism, wherein the gas mist inhaler inhales the gas mist into the upper airway and the lower airway of the living organism.
Abstract:
According to the present invention there is provided an inhalation device for delivering unit doses of powdered medicament, the device comprising a casing; a cartridge removably mounted within the casing for containing at least one unit dose of powdered medicament, the cartridge having a plurality of compartments each for containing a discrete unit dose and a sealing layer for closing each respective compartment; and a separator for removing the sealing layer from a respective compartment whereby to define an air flow passage via the open compartment; the casing having an inhalation aperture whereby inhalation of air by a user causes air to be drawn via the air flow passage to entrain within the air flow the contents of the open compartment.
