    摘要： A disk player (10) has a disk cartridge (40) adapted to be loaded thereon, and accommodating a disk-type recording medium (41). The disk cartridge (40) has a shutter (42) arranged thereon, for performing a slide-opening/closing motion in order to expose an information surface of the disk-type recording medium (41). The disk player (10) comprises a carrier mechanism (60) for carrying the disk cartridge (40) to an information regenerating location and an information recording location, respectively, and a shutter sliding mechanism (50) for slide-opening/closing the shutter (42). The shutter (42) assumes an intermediate position of a sliding motion when the disk cartridge (40) is located at one of the information regenerating location and the information recording location, and assumes a terminal position of the sliding motion when the shutter (42) is located at the other one of the locations. The disk player (10) also includes a driving mechanism (70) comprising an engaging element and an engaged element which is separated from the engaging element when the information recording mechanism (38) is not driven.

    摘要： A magnetic disk apparatus using a magnetic disk in which recording and/or reproduction of information is carried out by a magnetic head which receives a floating force by an air current occurring when the magnetic disk is rotated. In this apparatus, a first disk cartridge holding a first magnetic disk which is provided with a planar recording track on a disk substrate molded out of a synthetic resin, and a magnetic layer covering the recording track, and a second disk cartridge holding a second magnetic disk which is provided with recessed and projecting information bit arrays on a disk substrate molded out of a synthetic resin, and a magnetic layer on bottom and top surfaces of these bit arrays, and in which the magnetic layer to the bottom and top surfaces of the bit arrays are magnetized in different directions to store information such as computer-controlling program are selectively mounted. This enables a new program to be installed in a computer only by replacing the disk cartridge.

    摘要： The mechanism for loading and unloading a disk cartridge (13) uses two sliders (70, 73) (one on each side of a base plate (46)), which move in opposite directions under the influence of a tiller (76). Each slider (70, 73) has a slot (262, 281) to receive one of the two lifting pins (136, 139) provided on the cartridge receiver (82). The movement of the sliders (70, 73) drives the lifting pins (136, 139) along the slots (262, 281), thereby raising or lowering the cartridge receiver (82) depending upon the direction of rotation of the tiller (76). The sliding motion of the lifting pins (136, 139) engaged in the S-shaped slots (262, 281) thus unloads a disk (14) from or, alternatively, loads the disk (14) onto the drive spindle (61). As the lifting pins (136, 139) travel along their respective slots (262, 281), the lifting and lowering of the disk (14) is accomplished in such a manner that the disk hub (15) is peeled from the spindle magnet (63) rather than being lifted vertically off the spindle (61). This reduces the peak force required to break the magnetic clamp force between the spindle magnet (63) and the disk hub (15). In this system, the dust door (91) is attached to the cartridge receiver, and the label end of the loaded cartridge (13) remains visible when the disk (14) is loaded. This system may include a bias coil assembly (94) rotatably mounted on an arm (97) so that the bias coil assembly (94) may be loaded into or extracted from the disk cartridge (14) and placed out of the travel path of the disk cartridge (14). The rotation of the bias coil arm (97) is effected by one of the sliders (70, 73).
