The novel compound of the present invention has the diphenylanthracene structure at the center and a specific structure substituted with an aryl group at end portions. The organic electroluminescence device of the present invention comprises a plurality of layers of thin films of organic compounds which comprise a light emitting layer or a plurality of layers comprising a light emitting layer and are disposed between a pair of electrodes and at least one of the layers of thin films of organic compounds comprises the above novel compound. The novel compound exhibits excellent efficiency of light emission and heat resistance, has a long life and emits bluish light having excellent purity of color and the organic electroluminescence device comprises the novel compound and exhibits the same advantageous properties.

An organic electroluminescence device which exhibits an excellent purity of color and a high efficiency of light emission, has a long life and emits reddish light and a novel compound having these characteristics are provided. The organic electroluminescence device comprises an organic layer disposed between at least one pair of electrodes, wherein the organic layer comprises a compound represented by general formula [1]: wherein R 1 to R 14 each independently represent hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an aryloxy group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, an arylalkyl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, an aryl group having 6 to 30 carbon atoms, an arylamino group having 6 to 30 carbon atoms, an alkylamino group having 2 to 20 carbon atoms or an arylalkylamino group having 6 to 30 carbon atoms, the groups being substituted or unsubstituted; and at least one pair of R among R 1 to R 14 which are adjacent to each other do not represent hydrogen atom but represent groups which form a cyclic structure in combination.

Verfahren zur Herstellung von mehrkernigen, kondensierten aromatischen Verbindungen mit hohen elektrischen Leitfähigkeiten durch elektrochemische Umsetzung von Diazonium-Salzen der mehrkernigen, kondensierten aromatischen Verbindungen mit einer ionisierbaren Verbindung als Leitsalz, die in ionische Dotierungsmittel ionisierbar ist. Nach diesem Verfahren werden elektrisch leitfähige kondensierte aromatische Verbindungen definierter Zusammensetzung mit elektrischen Leitfähigkeiten über 10 -4 Ω -1 cm insbesondere über 10 -2 Ω -1 cm -1 erhalten.
