    摘要： The invention provides a media transport system for detecting metallic objects in media to be input into the media transport system, comprising: an input tray (110) configured to hold media to be fed into the media transport system; one or more rollers (120,220) configured to convey the media from the input tray (110) and along a medium transport path; one or more induction sensors (215) positioned near an entry point of media from the input tray into the medium transport path, wherein the induction sensor (215) is configured to detect presence of any metallic material and output a metallic detection signal; a processing unit in communication with the induction sensor, the processing unit configured to receive the metallic detection signal and further configured to analyze the signals and determine whether the media contains a metallic object.

    摘要： Sheet media jams are detected along a media transport path by one or more vibration sensors that capture mechanical movements of components along the path that interact with the sheet media for driving or guiding the sheet media along the transport path. The detected vibrations during the advancing of the sheets are analyzed for distinguishing between detected vibrations associated with normal handling of the sheets and detected vibrations associated with abnormal handling of the sheets. An error condition can be signaled to a control system in response to distinguishing the detected vibrations associated with the abnormal handling of the sheets.
