    摘要: An apparatus for calibrating rotary power assembly impulse tools comprises a variable rate simulated test joint in which a rotary shaft is braked by brake shoes in direct contact with the shaft under the control of a computer. The braking torque applied to the shaft by the brake shoes is gradually increased while the shaft is driven at free-running speed by the tool being calibrated, and the pulsed output of the impulse tool is monitored. The monitored pulsed output is initially erratic, but settles down to a regular stream of output pulses. The first pulse of that regular stream can be identified. The magnitude of the braking torque is then increased as a linear function of time with a predefined gradient representative of the torque rate of the joint being simulated, commencing with the identified first pulse. The apparatus is the first such apparatus to be able to provide thoroughly reliable and consistent torque calibration for impulse tools.

    摘要: An electrical connector including an insulator and a number of contacts for mounting on a substrate such as a printed circuit board. As disclosed, the electrical connector includes an elongated insulator block carrying contacts in the form of pins, an end of each of which is received in a printed circuit board aperture to be soldered to the printed circuit board. The elongated insulator block further includes a series of holes, each intermediate an adjacent pair of contacts of the connector, precisely located relative to the contact locations, to facilitate positioning the connector for insertion of the pins into a printed circuit board. The insulator block is notched adjacent each of the holes to facilitate breaking the connector to a desired length, and hence containing a desired number of contacts. The insulator block further has generally semi-cylindrical indentations at each of its ends. To mechanically secure the electrical connector to a printed circuit board, prior to soldering of the contact pins thereto, a peg is inserted through one of the holes in the insulator into gripping engagement with the walls of an aperture in the printed circuit board.

    摘要: Systems and methods that provide control circuits having multiple sub-control inputs that control operation of a power electronics device (e.g., a power converter). Each of the multiple sub-control inputs are output from a separate sub-control circuit that includes a feedback circuit having an input tied to a common control node. The common control node is coupled to an input of a controller (e.g., a PWM controller). Outputs of each of the sub-control circuits are coupled to the common control node by a respective switch (e.g., diode, transistor, etc.) so that each of the sub-control circuits may be selectively coupled to the common control node to provide a control signal to a controller. Since components of each of the feedback compensations circuits are biased at a regulation voltage instead of a higher power supply voltage, the control circuit may switch between control modes with minimal delay.

    摘要: An electronic click wrench comprises a handle for applying torque through a shaft to a working head. The shaft includes torque sensing means for calculating the torque applied to a workpiece by the working head, and a trigger mechanism for sending a haptic feedback to a user by triggering a small movement of the handle relative to the working head when a set point torque is reached. The trigger mechanism comprises a permanent magnet that is normally anchored by magnetic attraction to a pole piece so as to resist separation when a force is applied through the handle, and an electromagnetic means actuable to reduce or cancel that magnetic attraction so as to permit separation of the pole piece and permanent magnet, thus generating the haptic feedback. Operation of the electromagnet may oppose the flux of the permanent magnet through the pole piece. Alternatively operation of the electromagnet may divert the flux of the permanent magnet away from the pole piece.
