    摘要: A hypoid ring gear for differential is produced by the steps of upset-forging a round bar blank (W1) heated to a predetermined temperature to forma first disk-like intermediate article (W2), die-forging said first intermediate article (W2) to form a second intermediate article (W3) in the form of a bottom-closed annular body which is smaller in inner and outer diameters and larger in axial thickness than the end product, punching out the bottom (W3') of said second intermediate article (W3) to form a third intermediate article (W4) in the form of a bottom-opened annular body which is smaller in inner and outer diameters and larger in axial thickness than the end product, shot-blasting said third intermediate article (W4) to remove the scale and reheating it to a predetermined temperature and ring-rolling it to form a fourth intermediate article (W5) in the form of a crude product which is somewhat smaller in inner and outer diameters and somewhat larger in axial thickness than the end product, orbitally forging said fourth intermediate article (W5) to form a fifth intermediate article (W6) having hypoid teeth (9) formed therein by orbital forging, and normalizing and shot-blasting said fifth intermediate article (W6) to effect normalization and scale removal and then punching out the inner burr (W6') which is formed on said fifth intermediate article (W6) during tooth forming operation based on orbital forging and cold-coining it, thereby forming the end product (W7).

    摘要: A detector assembly for giving an infrared sensor a detecting range of about 180 DEG includes a semi-cylindrical focusing lens and a pair of reflective mirror surfaces which is positioned behind the lens and oriented symmetrically with respect to each other with respect to a central symmetry plane and tilted with respect to both the axial direction of the semi-cylindrical lens and the symmetry plane such that infrared signals passing through the lens at azimuthal angles of incidence up to about 90 DEG from the symmetry plane and impinging on either of the reflective surfaces will be received by the sensor. When the sensor thus detects the presence of an infrared-emitting source, a detection signal is outputted and power from a rechargeable battery is transmitted first at a higher voltage for a specified period of time and then at a lower voltage to a fluorescent tube through a contact piece being pressed against the tube. The contact piece is surrounded and supported by an electrical insulator which, in turn, is surrounded and supported by a socket member made of a thermally conductive material and provided with a planar protrusion which can be attached to a housing structure such that heat can be effectively conducted away from the contact piece.

    摘要: A shielding grid (44) constructed of a radiation absorbing material (46, 48) for use with an array of discreet, non-contiguous radiation sensors to protect such sensors from scattered radiation. The sensors each have a radiation sensitive area (11) with a width (Ws) and a length (W1). In designing the grid a prototile having a prototile width and a prototile length is developed. The prototile width is equal to the radiation sensitive area width divided by an integer, and the prototile length is also equal to the radiation sensitive area length divided by an integer. The prototile contains a motif contained solely within the prototile that forms a pattern when a plurality of prototiles sufficient to cover the array of discreet detector are arrayed contiguously. The grid is constructed with the radiation absorbing material in this pattern.
