The washing solution is passed from the absorber to a regeneration tank. In the regeneration tank, the solution is gassed with air, oxygen (O2)-enriched air or with pure O2. By introducing O2 into the solution, the H2S already present in the solution is reacted over the dissolved metal catalyst. After the regeneration, possible solids are separated off and the regenerated washing solution is returned to the absorber.
