The base plate (12) aperture having a varying diameter with the slide plate (14) movably mounted to the base plate (12).The deflector device (10) is positioned upstream of the extrusion die with the degree of bow reduction depending upon adjustment of the diameter of the aperture via the slide plate (14) thereby imparting a pressure drop gradient on the flow stream entering the extrusion die (30).

Bei einem Preßkopf (1) für Strangpressen, der Einbauten (11) zur Beeinflussung des einem Mundstück (10) zuzuführenden Tonstranges aufweist, sind die Einbauten (11) durch mindestens zwei einander gegenüberliegend angeordnete und Strömungsrichtung (S) des Tonstranges zueinander geneigt verlaufende Leitplatten gebildet, die zur Einstellung des Neigungswinkels jeweils fest an einer begrenzt verdrehbar gelagerten Welle (13, 13') angebracht sind. Die Wellen (13, 13') sind hierbei zumindest auf einer Seite gemeinsam auf der Außenseite des Preßkopfes (1) an diesem abgestützt. Durch diese Ausgestaltung ist es möglich, den Tonstrang im Preßkopf (1) vorzuformen und dessen Fließrichtung zu beeinflussen, so daß dieser unmittelbar dem Mundstück (10) zugeleitet wird, ohne daß dabei größere Strömungswiderstände zu überwinden sind. Außerdem können Anpassungen an unterschiedlich groß bemessene Mundstücke (10) und auch an unterschiedliche Materialien leicht vorgenommen werden, und zwar auch während der Produktion.
