Ein weiterer Arm (19) dieses Hebels trägt eine (14) von zwei Farbbandgabetn (13, 14), die miteinander gekuppelt sind. Der Motor (5) treibt eine Schnecke (6) an. Ein Schneckenrad (7) ist mit einem Ritzel (8) fest verbunden und zusammen mit diesem längs der Schnecke (6) in zwei Stellungen verschiebbar. In einer Stellung (8) kämmt das Ritzel mit einem an einem der beiden Farbbandspulenträger (1) vorgesehenen Zahnkranz (3). In der anderen Stellung (8') kämmt es mit einem am anderen Farbbandspulenträger (2) gebildeten Zahnkranz (4).

Each spindle is provided with and connected to a motor, a plurality of gears, and a rotary encoder such that the spindles may be independently controlled by a control processor. The control processor is operable for monitoring, detecting, and controlling the operation of the motors and spindles. During operation and in order to maintain a constant ribbon tension, the torque on the motors are continuously adjusted in accordance with various data provided by the printer's processor.

    摘要: A ribbon (40) is driven past the printing station of a printer (12) only when a reciprocating print head (22) is moved in the right-to-left direction across the printer (12). An endless timing belt (46), which reciprocates together with the print head (22), causes rotation of a gear pulley (48) that is in mesh with an idler gear (66). The idler gear (66) is supported on a pair of projecting fingers (80, 82) of a plate (68) that is swingable on the spindle (56) supporting the gear pulley (48). The idler gear (66), being maintained in mesh with the gear pulley (48), is responsive to the direction of rotation of the gear pulley (48) through a drag effect of the ends (84, 86) of the projecting fingers (80, 82) on the bottom surface of the idler gear (66), to cause swinging movement of the plate (68) in accordance with the direction of rotation of the gear pulley (48), such that the idler gear (66) is in mesh with a ribbon drive gear (88) only when the print head (22) moves in a right-to-left direction across the printer (12).

    摘要: A thermal ink transfer printing apparatus comprising a carriage (62) moved along the rotating shaft of a platen roller (132), and a thermal head (126) provided with a row of heating elements (174). A fixture (134) which is urged backward by a spring (148) is rotatably attached to the carriage (62) and to the front side (134a) of which is attached the thermal head (126). A solenoid (142) is fixed on the carriage with its core rod (144) contacted with the backside (134b) of the fixture. An ink ribbon (74) fed from an ink ribbon feeding reel (66) and wound around an ink ribbon winding reel (64) after passing through the thermal head (126). The ink ribbon feeding and winding reels are arranged on the carriage. When current is applied to the solenoid (142), the thermal head (126) is pressed against the platen roller (32) to closely contact the ink ribbon (74) with a recording sheet (34) on the circumference of the platen roller (32), while when current supply is stopped to the solenoid, the thermal head is retreated to peel off the ink ribbon from the recording sheet. When blanks corresponding to two serial characters are applied to the thermal head, both of current supply to the solenoid and the winding of the ink ribbon are stopped, to thereby avoid the winding of the ink ribbon unused.
