Le polymère est obtenu par polycondensation de N(dichlorophosphoryl)trichlorophosphazène en présence de bis(dichlorophosphoryl)imide. La présence de bis(dichlorophosphoryl)imide accélère notablement la vitesse de la réaction de polycondensation.

Cyclic phosphonitrilic halide trimer is made in high yield and at a rapid rate by adding NH₃ or ammonium halide to a pyridine-hydrogen halide complex and adding phosphorus pentahalide and a solvent for the trimer (e.g. monochlorobenzene) and heating the mixture to above 90°C to form trimer which dissolves in the solvent and then separating the trimer-solvent phase from the residue phase of pyridine-hydrogen halide complex and recovering trimer from the solvent phase and recycling the pyridine-hydrogen halide phase to a subsequent procedure conducted in the same manner. The process can also be adapted to provide linear species in high yield also.

Linear phosphonitrilic chloride polymers are produced from linear phosphonitrilic chloride oligomers by means of a two-step process. In the first step a mixture of linear phosphonitrilic chloride oligomer having an average degree of polymerization of at least 4 is heated with an excess of ammonia or ammonium chloride. Cyclic phosphonitrilic chloride oligomer formed during the course of the first step is removed from the reaction mixture. After the removal of the cyclic oligomer the reaction mixture is subjected to the second step which involves heating the mixture in an inert liquid solvent (optionally in the presence of ammonia or amonium chloride) whereby the molecular weight of the linear phosphonitrilic chloride polymer is increased.

A two-stage process for the production of linear phosphonitrilic chloride oligomers is provided. In the first step, phosphorus trichloride (PCl 3 ) and chlorine are reacted in a suitable liquid reaction medium. In the second step PCl 3 , Cl 2 and NH 3 are concurrently fed into the medium white maintaining a temperature at 100°C to 140°C. The feeds of the reactants are controlled so that until the first half of the NH 3 has been reacted the molar ratio of PCl 3 :NH 3 (including the PCl 3 of the first step) is kept above two. Thereafter, the feeds are adjusted so that with respect to the total amount of ammonia, said molar ratio is between 1.2 and 1.5. Linear phosphonitrilic chloride oligomers having a number average degree of polymerization from 2 to 9 are produced in high yield.

Die Erfindung betrifft Phosphornitridchloride enthaltende Zusammensetzungen, insbesondere solche, die die Kondensation und/oder Äquilibrierung von Organosiloxanen und/oder Organopolysiloxanen beschleunigen. Erfindungsgemäß werden Phosphornitridchloride enthaltende Zusammensetzungen bereitgestellt, die anorganische und/oder organische Säurehalogenide, vorzugsweise mit 1 bis 99 Gew.-%, enthalten. Die erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzungen enthalten keine Halogenkohlenwasserstoffe, zeichnen sich durch eine sehr gute Lagerstabilität und katalytische Aktivität aus und sind frei von Stoffen, welche bei der Polykondensation und/oder der Äquilibrierung nicht entfernt werden können.
