Various systems and methods are provided that allow reviewers to quickly save, identify, retrieve, and share communications. For example, systems and methods described herein may allow a reviewer to store at least a portion of a communication, called a snippet, in a postboard. For example, a reviewer can highlight a portion of the content of a communication. Once the portion is highlighted, the reviewer can select a snippet command, which stores the highlighted portion in the postboard. Each snippet stored in a postboard includes at least a portion of the content that was highlighted and a link to the communication from which the snippet originates.

The subject matter of this specification can be implemented in, among other things, a method for providing socially relevant content in a news domain. The methods includes a step for receiving a request from a user for a news aggregator page related to a news story. The method also includes a step for retrieving social contents items related to the news story. The method also includes a step for providing the news aggregator page for display, wherein the news aggregator page includes multiple links to news content items related to the news story, and the retrieved social content items related to the news story.

The present invention relates to a system that comprises a rendering server, a rendering device, and a control device. The control device and the rendering device comprise a browser. The browsers are used to establish a first web link between the control device and the rendering server, and a second web link between the rendering device and the rendering server. The rendering device may connect to the rendering server over the second web link to register to the rendering server and pair with the control device. The control device may connect to the rendering server over the first web link to register and pair with available rendering devices that would be used for rendering content. During operation the control device may control information identifying the rendering device and a content data item for rendering over the first web link to the rendering server. The rendering server may generate, in response to the first control information, second control information that includes rendering control commands for rendering the identified content data item, and send it to the identified rendering device over the second web link. The rendering device renders the content data item according to the rendering control commands received from the rendering server.

The present disclosure provides a method for local calling via a webpage, including that: a local calling operation instruction is serialized, the serialized local calling operation instruction is filled into a webpage as a hyperlink character string, and the webpage is sent to a server or a local operating system; and a browser acquires the webpage from the local operating system or the server according to a model of the operating system local to the browser local to the browser, de-serializes the hyperlink character string in the webpage, and requests, according to an instantiated local calling operation instruction obtained through the de-serialization, the operating system local to the browser to execute a local calling operation indicated by the instantiated local calling operation instruction. The present disclosure further provides a system for local calling via a webpage. With the method and system provided in the present disclosure, a new local calling function may be added without updating any browser code, thereby improving universality of local calling.

The method includes providing a main page including a plurality of links for web pages; adding, when at least one link is selected on the main page, the selected at least one link to a collect view list; configuring a collect view page by collecting web page data corresponding to the links added to the collect view list; and providing the collect view page.

Various embodiments utilize page scripting and parsing to identify the target destination of a hyperlink and provide a visual indication of the destination to the user without causing redirection to the target destination. In some embodiments, hyperlink color, highlighting, or icons are used to indicate the destination. Particular colors and/or icons selected to indicate the destination can, in some embodiments, be selected based on the domain hosting the target destination. In at least some embodiments, the destination of a link is determined by the page script run by a web browser on a user's device, while in other embodiments, information is transmitted to a web request handler on the server hosting the web site to determine the destination.
Abstract:
A system and method for linking content files is disclosed. The system comprises a targeting module, a link generation module and a graphic user interface module (GUI module). The targeting module determines a target content file based at least in part on an uploaded content file. The target content file comprises a long form content file. The link generation module is communicatively coupled to the targeting module for generating a link to the target content file. The GUI module is communicatively coupled to the targeting module and to the link generation module for generating a web page. The web page includes a playable version of the uploaded content file and the link to the target content file.
