The needles are interposed between two cover plates, a free needle projection (8) being left free, and pressurized air channels being located between the cover plates and two adjoining needles each. In order to increase the effectivity of the cleaning effect, the needles (1, 1', 1'') are indented so that the matching indents of adjoining needles form an air channel (9, 9', 9''), the indents tapering towards the outlet zone (outlet opening 11, 11', 11'').

Die Einrichtung bzw. das Verfahren dient zum Sammeln von Wattestücken, die in Kämmaschinen (1,2,3) jeweils bei einem Wattewickel-Wechselvorgang von Wattebändern abgetrennt werden. Jede Kämmaschine (1,2,3) enthält Saugdüsen (4-11) für die Aufnahme der Wattestücke, die über ein Absperrorgan (23, 23.2, 23.3) mit einer Sammelleitung (21) verbunden sind. Die Sammelleitung (21) führt zu einem Ventilator und Trommelseparator (25). Wenn in einer der Maschinen (1,2,3) ein Wattewickel-Wechselvorgang durchgeführt wird, wird das der Maschine zugeordnete Absperrorgan (23, 23.2, 23.3) geöffnet und der Ventilator und Trommelseparator (25) eingeschaltet. Die abgetrennten Wattestücke werden in die Saugdüsen (4-11) gesaugt und durch die Sammelleitung (21) in den Trommelseparator (25) transportiert. Das Fasermaterial der Wattestücke kann dann aus dem Trommelseparator (25) entnommen und für die Herstellung von neuer Watte wiederverwendet werden.
