摘要: The drilling tool is adapted for being releasably mounted to the lower end of a rod string (20) of a drilling rig (30) and comprises a container (2) having a cylindrical or truncated-cone shape fitted at its lower end with a plurality of cutting tools or cutters (10) for crushing rock. The drilling tool (1) further comprises:
a plate (3) for releasably retaining a plurality of modular elements (14) forming a load (13); and curved blades (9), located proximate to the cutting tools (10), adapted for conveying rock spalls into the container (2) through suitable apertures (8) in the bottom of the container (2). The cutting tools (10) are mounted to a plurality of radial plates (7) securely fixed proximate to the bottom edge of the container (2). The curved blades are welded to the edges of the radial plates (7), the concavity of each blade (9) being arranged facing the direction of rotation of the drilling tool (1).-

摘要: A machine for boring a shaft in earth strata or the like. An annular support ring means having an outside diameter approxiately equal to the diameter of the shaft which is selectively engageable or disengageable with the shaft wall by the use of clamping means is disclosed. A carriage means which is slidably mounted on the annular support ring means and orbital thereabout is also disclosed. A rotary cutting wheel means having a diameter substantially smaller than the diameter of the shaft is mounted on the carriage means and is axially displaceable with respect thereto for movement in a direction which may be parallel or inclined with respect to the axis of the shaft. Various drive means for moving the carriage means circumferentially about the annular support ring means, and for moving the rotary cutting wheel means in an axial direction with respect to the carriage means, and for rotating the rotary cutting wheel means are described. The use of the machine to make an overlapping helical path cut in earth strata whereby a generally cylindrical shaft is created is also described.

摘要: Apparatus for boring holes in the ground is provided, the apparatus comprising two cutting heads (1.1, 1.14) arranged coaxially and separated by an elongate tubular member (1.4). The first cutting head (1.14) is carried by the elongate tubular member itself, and acts as a pilot boring head. The second cutting head (1.1) is annular and serves to form the bore proper. The apparatus also includes means (1.7) carried externally by the elongate tubular member for collecting debris produced in the course of a boring operation, or for deflecting debris away from the first (i.e. lower) cutting head. In one development, the elongate tubular member is cut away in part so thatthe interior of the tubular member is exposed to part of the earth surface within the pilot bore.
The debris collecting means can be in the form of a collar located aboutthe elongate tubular member, or it may be in the form of a helical ledge or scroll (1.7) which carries debris along when the first cutting head is rotated.
