When the temperature change of the second temperature detector 7 exceeds a specific value, the drying process is terminated, so that the drying end time can be detected accurately without allowing to scorch.

This apparatus is capable of washing a powdery object to be treated, which comprises a polymeric organic compound, with washing liquid and drying the object to be treated, and is provided with: a container; a rotatable agitating blade that is disposed in the container; a filter that is disposed in the container and capable of separating the object to be treated and the washing liquid; a heater that is disposed in the container and capable of heating the interior of the container; and a control device that rotates the agitating blades during washing and drying of the object to be treated and activates the heater during drying of the object to be treated. The container has: a container body; an object-to-be-treated supply pipe that communicates with the interior of the container body and is capable of supplying the object to be treated; a washing liquid supply pipe that communicates with the interior of the container body and is capable of supplying the washing liquid; a treated object discharge pipe that communicates with the interior of the container body and is capable of discharging the treated object; and a washing liquid discharge pipe that communicates with the interior of the container body and is capable of discharging the washing liquid. The filter is provided in the container body and located upstream of the washing liquid discharge pipe.

The flash dryer (1) is characterised by a first conduit (30) extending axially inside the drive shaft (14) into the chamber (3) and adapted to provide a suspension or fluid (31) into the lower section of the chamber (3). The invention also relates to a method for drying a product (2) in a flash dryer (1).

According to a first embodiment, a dryer for removing hydrocarbons and/or moisture from metal chips is provided. The dryer includes a top portion and a base portion. The top portion comprises an elongated tubular chamber containing a scrap conveyor. The base portion comprises a burner, a heat exchanger, a high temperature VOC elimination chamber and a vent for returning reduced VOC gasses to the top portion. The top portion is configured to receive the metal chips at an inlet and transport the metal chips to an outlet while receiving heated air from the base portion.
