Provided are a method and apparatus for re-transmitting multi-input multi-output (MIMO) broadcasting signals, and more particularly, to a method and apparatus for efficiently re-transmitting MIMO broadcasting signals to a receiving terminal by using an existing cable without installing an additional cable, when a receiver transmits MIMO broadcasting signals to the receiving terminal via a cable. According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of re-transmitting a MIMO broadcasting signal, the method including restoring an original signal by receiving a MIMO broadcasting signal via a multi-antenna; re-modulating the restored MIMO broadcasting signal; transmitting the re-modulated MIMO broadcasting signal to a receiving terminal via a cable; and demodulating the transmitted MIMO broadcasting signal in the receiving terminal. A MIMO broadcasting signal is re-transmitted, and a radio frequency (RF) signal can be efficiently transmitted via a cable by modulating a plurality of RF signals to a RF broadcasting signal according to the method of the present invention.

An apparatus and a method for transmitting uplink information in a broadcasting system are provided. A repeater of a mobile broadcasting system includes a plurality of transmitting stations each transmitting a broadcast signal for at least one broadcast service, a plurality of terminals receiving the broadcast signal for the at least one broadcast service through at least one transmitting station among the transmitting stations, and the repeater, the repeated being coupled between the plurality of transmitting stations and the plurality of terminals. The repeater includes a receiving unit configured to receive uplink information from the terminals, a control unit configured to classify the received uplink information by broadcast service and to create uplink information per broadcast service, and a transmitting unit configured to transmit the created uplink information to at least one corresponding transmitting station.

Disclosed are a broadcast signal receiving apparatus, a broadcast signal receiving system and a controlling method thereof, the broadcast signal receiving apparatus comprising: a tuner configured to be tuned to a broadcast signal received from a signal source corresponding to a selected channel, and make at least a part of the received broadcast signal be looped through to an external apparatus in a normal mode; a switch configured to make the broadcast signal be looped through to the external apparatus in a standby mode of the tuner; and a controller configured to control operations of the tuner and the switch when the tuner is converted from the normal mode to the standby mode so that power can be supplied to or cut off from the tuner after a predetermined period of time. Thus, the switch is controlled independently of the mode of the broadcast signal receiving apparatus, thereby improving stability of operations and preventing a macroblock phenomenon of a broadcast signal looped through to an eternal apparatus.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Einblenden von Alarmmeldungen in einem DAB-Ensemble insbesondere innerhalb eines Tunnels. Das Verfahren sieht dabei vor, dass in dem DAB-Gleichwellennetz globale DAB-Signale als DAB-Ensemble ausgestrahlt werden und ein im DAB-Gleichwellennetz betriebener Sender die globalen DAB-Signale des DAB-Gleichwellennetzes netzsynchron mit einem erzeugten DAB-Signal überstrahlt, dessen Konfiguration aus dem FIC des globalen DAB-Signals abgeleitet wird, wobei das Verfahren die Schritte umfasst: (a) Verteilen (316) der einzublendenden Alarmmeldung (315) auf Audio-Encoder (317, 318, 319), die jeweils genau einen der im DAB-Ensemble enthaltenen Audio-Standards umfassen; (b) Komprimieren der verteilten Alarmmeldung mittels der Audio-Encoder (317, 318, 319) auf eine Datenrate, die kleiner oder gleich der niedrigsten im DAB-Ensemble vorkommenden Audio-Datenrate ist; (c) Reformatieren (324) der komprimierten Alarmmeldungen von Schritt (b) auf jede im DAB-Ensemble vorkommende Audio-Datenrate (321); (d) Auswahl (326) jeweils einer reformatierten Alarmmeldung (325) aus Schritt (c) pro Audio-Sub-Channel, welche die gleiche Datenrate und den gleichen Audio-Standard wie der jeweilige Audio-Sub-Channel besitzt; und (e) Einblenden der in Schritt (d) ausgewählten Alarmmeldungen (327) in die jeweiligen Audio-Sub-Channels.
